Happy New Year!

It’s out with the old and in with the new once again. The year of Olympic madness in London, the year of the dragon if you’re Chinese and of course the world will probably be ending as usual. I do love the clean slate feel of a new year and thinking of all the things I want to fill it with.

So, does your neighbourhood look anything like this today? Did you celebrate last night? Where did you go? What did you do? Did you see the fireworks over the Thames and battle your way home on the tube? Any new years resolutions?

  1. My husband and I (both OAPs) stayed at home – I drank a bottle of champagne, my husband drank whisky and we tried to find some entertainment on television that was not a repeat. I’m afraid the TV let us down miserably. But at least we have survived another year … and are reasonably fit and healthy.

    • Nothing wrong with that! Sounds nice and cosy. I went all the way out to Dartford for a family party which was really lovely and then decided to try to get home which took four hours and was not so lovely! Fit & healthy is a great way to start the new year!:)

  2. Happy New Year! Last night we welcomed the new year in by looking out over South-East London and watching the fireworks go off – as well as counting Chinese lanterns!
New Year’s Resolution? Visit a new cemetery a month, read more and be more tidy/ organised! ha ha
