A Few Bits of Street Art

I have to admit I haven’t been out taking many photos the past few months. I blame the dreary London weather. But Alex Ellison‘s been out and about and I’ve got a good Jimmy C piece photographed by Mickyh2011 to share with you as well. Some street art to brighten up a grey Wednesday morning.

Captured any interesting art in your area of London lately? Share it in the Flickr pool. Need some suggestions on where to look? Londonist’s latest article on Best Street Art Locations in London is a good place to start.

On a side note, I’m looking for some Londoners to interview for Listen to a Londoner.
Any volunteers?

Mobstr: A Bit of Paint

Mobstr, clever street artist who always makes me smirk or laugh or smile, has his London’s walls again over the last few weeks. Here are two pieces that Alex Ellison found and photographed in the East End.

More Mobstr here and of course on his website.

PS – Almost 550 likes on Facebook. When it gets there, I launch an 8×10 photography print giveaway for you. Spread the word. www.facebook.com/littlelondonobservationist

Street Art Catch Up with Alex Ellison

I know of very few people (apart from Griff over at Street Art London or Claude Crommelin) who are as on top of the street art scene in London as Alex Ellison. I had a great time searching for street art in Barcelona last week, but of course I missed out on a weekend of exploring around here. So I thought I’d see what Alex has added to the Flickr pool from while I was away and share with you here.

We’ll start with a big wall by Paul Insect.

Of course Mobstr is up to the usual signage tricks:

And a lovely mural in true black and white Phlegm style:

One artist I was spotted work from all over the streets of Gracia and El Raval in Barcelona is C215. And of course, he’s been busy in London as well. Here’s one last shot from Alex:

Stik at Spitalfields City Farm

This is the first time I’ve seen a Stik animal (correct me if I’m wrong). I haven’t made it over to Spitalfields City Farm since it went up so this is a pic from Alex Ellison who always knows where to find the best street art in London.

I interviewed Stik ages ago, at the end of 2009, but I’ve asked him if he’s up for a follow up since so much has happened since then. He’s agreed to a chat so sometime in the beginning of the new year, we’ll find out what he’s been up to and what his plans are for 2012.

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone 🙂 Have a lovely day.
