A Holland Park Sunset

Walking home through Home through Holland Park the other night, the sky was on fire, glowing like the insides torn out of an orange highlighter and smeared across the sky. Who says London is no good for sunsets?

Where’s the best place you’ve seen a sunset in London?

The Dock by the OXO Tower

Oxo Tower from Dock

When this dock by the OXO Tower is empty, it’s one of my favourite places to escape the chaos and crowds. I have brilliant memories of this dock from about six years ago when I did a work placement at Fleet Street Publications in the Sea Containers House nearby. I would eat my lunch here, bring a bottle of wine and a few friends after work or watch a romantic sunset like this one.

Sunset and Cranes

It’s a place of memories for a lot of other people as well, judging by the carvings along the rails.

Nightfall on the Thames

Well, what is a London blog without photos of Big Ben in all of its forms? I was walking along South Bank after a stop by the Leake Street graffiti tunnel (It went downhill, I tell you… It’s no longer a tunnel of thought-provoking street art, but a mess of tags – albeit still filled with pretty colours and the intoxicatingly enchanting smell of spraypaint…). So this lovely view from South Bank was welcome in the cold walk over to Embankment before the ride home…
